WHAT IS BREATHWORK THERAPY?
From the moment we are born we breathe until the day we die. This is an unconscious process that takes place without us having to be aware of it. By becoming more conscious of our breath and breathing more fully we can expand our energy and circulate it throughout the whole of our being, emotionally, mentally and physically.
When we resist the challenges and changes that life brings by restricting our breath we create contractions & tensions in our bodies, which then block our natural vitality. We develop body armour which has been necessary in the past as a mechanism for survival and protection, however, this armouring continues to affect our lives in the areas of relationships, creativity & self-expression in the present.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A BREATHWORK SESSION?
By being guided through specific breathing and bodywork techniques we are able to unburden ourselves of these protective layers, let go of held tensions and open up to our dynamism,energy and passion for life, returning to our natural state of being. A deep healing takes place within us, we become connected to our sensitivity, joy and trust in life.
A breathwork session lasts for about 60-90 minutes, there is time for discussion at the beginning and end of each session as well as space for deep relaxation.
