WHAT IS SOUND HEALING?

Sound has been used in many civilisations for thousands of years and is now beginning to be rediscovered in modern society as a wonderful tool for healing and transformation.

Many scientific studies have been carried out which confirm that the physical world is made up of vibrating energy and that all matter comes from vibration or sound. As the body is made up of 70% water it makes it a wonderful conductor of sound!

Resonance is the frequency at which an object naturally vibrates; each organ, bone and tissue in your body has its own separate resonant frequency. By applying sound frequencies to the body either by toning, singing, playing music or listening to music, physical and emotional pain can be released, energy and health can be restored   and imbalances in the body may relieved. The rhythms of our brain waves, heartbeat and respiration are also affected.

There is an element in the voice that gives it the most healing qualities above any instrument, piece of music, or any technology that can create sound. It is the intention of the sound healer and the individual resonance of their voice that makes it the most powerful healing instrument that there is.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SOUND HEALING TREATMENT?

I will begin by scanning your body to sense any areas that are blocked or in "dis-ease" using my voice.

I will then begin to project sounds into your body by toning. Toning can be described as making an elongated vowel sound with one breath. I may use different sounds on different parts of your body. In addition to using my voice I may use other instruments, e.g. singing bowls. The session lasts for 45 mins to 1 hour. There will be time for discussion at the end.

comment from client:-
'I felt so deeply relaxed and rested, as if enveloped in a soft warm cocoon of sound - a beautiful experience!
